To be able to practice the Permanent Make-up profession you do not need to be a beautician. The Ministry of Health guidelines state that every permanent make-up operator, in order to be able to carry out this activity, must be in possession of the Health Risk Prevention Certificate, that is to have attended the sanitary hygienic course provided by the various Italian Regions for Tattoo and Makeup. Permanent. Almost all the Italian regions have established and regulated these courses through regional resolutions. For example in Piedmont the legislation is regulated by the Deliberation of the Regional Council 27 July 2016, n. 20-3738 which states that every permanent make-up operator must be in possession of the Health Risk Prevention Certificate in order to be able to carry out this activity.
The certificate is issued to those attending the 94 hour course on the prevention of health risks associated with tattooing, piercing and permanent make-up activities.
Regional regulation of training courses on health risks of tattooing, piercing and permanent makeup.
The course includes the acquisition of skills related to the identification and execution of procedures aimed at preventing health risks deriving from the activities of tattoos, piercings and permanent make-up.
The course is divided in 4 training units, corresponding to the 4 modules provided for by the regional reference legislation which reflect the guidelines of the Ministry.
Who it is aimed at: operators in the sector who have already opened the business, operators who intend to open a new business, qualified and / or qualified beauticians who apply permanent or semi-permanent make-up.
Admission requirements: compulsory school attendance, age.
Frequency: compulsory (attendance requirement of 90% of the course hours).
Title awarded: certificate of attendance and profit (authorizes the performance of the profession).
Course duration: 90 hours + 4 of final exam. (If you are an esthetician the duration of the course can be 75 hours + 4 of final exam but the final exam will focus on all the subjects of the course).
Renewal: it is mandatory to perform an 8-hour refresher course every 4 years.
Main course contents:
Identify the anatomical and physiological characteristics for performing tattooing, piercing and permanent makeup
Prevent major infections from parenteral transmission in tattooing, piercing and permanent make-up activities
Evaluate the main health risks associated with tattooing, piercing and permanent make-up practices
Perform tattooing, piercing and permanent make-up activities in compliance with current legislation and following good practices concerning the prevention of health risks
Training course not compulsory for those who perform only the ear lobe drilling.
If the exam is not passed, it will be allowed to repeat it only once within 1 year.
The total number of hours may vary depending on individual pre-requisites or training credits.
